Know The Fact About Leaf - A brief Introduction

 Leaves are an integral part of the stem system .They are tied by a continuous vascular system to the rest of the plant .So, that free exchange of nutrients, water and last product of photosynthesis can be carried to it's various part . 

There are two types of leaf 

1. Simple leaf 

2. Compound leaf 

1. Simple leaf - A leaf is said to be simple when it consists of single Blade which may be entire or incised to any depth but not down to the midrib .

2. Compound leaf - when the incision of the leaf both down to the middle so, that the leaf is broken up into a  number of segments is called leaflet.

           A bud is present in the exile of simple leaf or compound and but never present in the exile of a leaflet of compound leaf.

1. Leaf base - The leaf base is the slightly expanded area where the leaf attaches to the stem.

2. Axil - The leaf axil is situated next to a bract axil which forms the lateral or secondary bud.

3. Stem - It supports leaves , flowers , fruits transport water and dissolved substances between the root .

4. Petiole - The petiole is a stalk that's connect the blade with the leaf base.

5. Leaf blade - The leaves stem, flowers and fruits together from the shoot system.

6. Midrib - Midrib helps the leaf to keep in  an  upright position, and it also helps to keep the leaf strong during the wind.

7. Margin - Entire margin are smooth, without indentation or incision. 

8. Tip - Tip growth occurs alage fungi and plants.
